“If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it.” – John Kennell, M.D., pediatrician

Birth to me is a rite of passage, and I became a doula because I had two wonderful birth experiences yet consistently heard from people around me that they had not as positive birth experiences, at home or hospital. This work for me is all about supporting families in having a positive birth, that feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction from their birthing experience, even when things don't go as planned.

This business was started from a place of love and desire to help other people.

I describe myself as professional and thrive where I can educate those who desire to learn and empower themselves, that's where GentleBirth came in; I recently became a Certified GentleBirth Instructor and will soon offer private in-home childbirth education workshops so I can best educate and support families in becoming informed not only about physical demands of birth, but the mental too. Helping families feel informed about their birth and confident with their knowledge is why I do what I do. Knowledge and confidence leads to empowerment and strength. I love to see a birthing partner feel confident and empowered with the tools they've learned in our journey together and able to best support their partner and  take charge of their partners birth.

Witnessing the love within a family and seeing the strength come together, often times a strength they never knew existed, is such an honour for me.

Breastfeeding is also a major passion of mine. I struggled for 3 months with my first daughter and felt really alone in my journey. Obtaining my Lactation Counselor certificate was a big step for me in supporting other families in their breastfeeding journey, no matter what that may look like.

Village Birth Collective

Sarah has partnered up to create a collective of birth workers, Village Birth Collective was created by five like-minded doulas, in an effort to create one place that pregnant families can go to for all things desired in the birthing years.  With the wide variety of education, knowledge, and experience each of us have, we are able to help families take their first step into parenthood knowing they have a whole village of support behind them.

We have come together to redefine support through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.  By working together, we are able to provide the best and most comprehensive care to the families we serve.

Come join our fee information sessions: Meet the Village. Meeting the Village means that if you should ever desire other pregnancy and birth related services, we can offer many of them to you, without ever having to go through meeting and trying to build rapport with someone new.  Want a Massage?  Breastfeeding Consult?  Reiki Treatment?  Nutrition Support?  Postpartum Support?  We've got it.

Let us be your village.
